WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
This course will help you to be able to develop your own creative thinking, visual communication and design skills.
wHAT WILL YOU EXPERIENCE?
The course is divided into 3 areas.
Expressive Folio - A folio of work will be produced which has a personal theme and shows a final outcome in drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture. 3 x A2 Sheets including written evaluation, uplifted for External Assessment by SQA in late April.
Design assessment - A folio of work will be produced which shows a personal solution to a selected design brief in areas such as graphic design, jewellery, product design etc. 3 x A2 Sheets including written evaluation, uplifted for External Assessment by SQA in late April.
Art & Design Studies - You will develop critical analysis skills and understanding of subject specific terminology by studying a wide range of Art and Design. You will study in depth the work of 2 artists and 2 designers. You will be assessed through a written exam.

EMPLOYMENT
Art and Design is an essential qualification for many creative careers from traditional visual artists and craftspeople, jewellers, fashion designers, film & television make up set and costume designers to games design, journalism, photography, architecture, product and industrial design.
